About Me

Beginning at the age of 14 as a freelancer at The Yorkshire Post Newspaper, I’ve since contributed to numerous outlets over the years – ranging from B2B to consumer titles, speciality brochures and books to websites, pod/vod cast, TV and radio. That’s given me a wide range of experiences including interviewing Hollywood stars, poking around on film sets, directing photo shoots, learning to do ‘the lift’ at the original Dirty Dancing hotel, cooking my way round the Caribbean, driving the Gumball Rally, being made into an action figure… I am currently the Chair of The Critics' Circle Film Section and a voting member of BAFTA and the Critics' Choice Association.

I edited Total Film Magazine for ten years and am currently Editor-in-Chief of Hollywood Authentic Magazine.

When I’m not editing, commission or writing about film I'm scribbling away authoring my books – I have published a fiction novel, Gatsby (Borough Press) and two non-fiction coffee table books; Silver Screens: Spectacular Cinemas From Hollywood To Hong Kong (Pavilion) and Behind The Screens: 100 Iconic Locations That Made Movie History (Pavilion). I am a member of the Authors' Society.

I am also a seasoned broadcaster on TV, radio and podcasts as well as an experienced moderator and compere for Q&As and events.
